2009 Auburn Chamber Town-Wide Clean Up was a Huge Success
The Auburn Chamber's TOWN-WIDE CLEAN UP held on Saturday, May 2 was a huge success! With close to 300 volunteers on hand to pitch in and help clean-up Auburn with a record total of 7 tons of trash & 1 ton of recycling collected. Beyond the removal of trash the Chamber had a record number of 4 dumpsters of recycled metal that was hauled away by Frankenstein Recycling. From a request from the Auburn Board of Health the Chamber also picked up a total of 60 tires from several locations throughout the community which local tire companies TCI, Town Fair Tire and Firestone disposed of at no cost. This just goes to show that there are many who will go the extra mile to show their Auburn pride!
The participants were: Auburn schools & their students, civic clubs and organizations, selectmen, church groups, businesses and many residents of Auburn. Here is the list of groups that had participated in the clean up.
